Your Parents are your Heaven and Hell.

Once a person asked from the beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) about the right of the parents. Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said that:-

They are your heaven and hell”.

It is important to be obedient to the parents after the obedience of Allah and His beloved prophet. Some time children do not try to realize that how much their parents have done for them.  Every mother faces the pain of the pregnancy and the pain of the child birth. She does not sleep in nights for her child. When the child becomes ill the parents becomes worry. They nurse the child. They spend their money for his health, for buying clothes for him. When the child grows up they send him in school. They spend money for his education. They spend their earning of whole life to make the child happy. They ignore the mistakes of the child. They fulfill the every need and wish of the child.
At the end when the child becomes able his duty starts. It’s the time to return.  The very first thing which a child should do is to behave with kindness and love to his parents. He should remember that time when he was infant or a baby. He should remember that love and kindness. The first wish which parents have is that their child should be obedient, kind, polite and helpful. When parents become too weak and old that they cannot care of their selves it’s the duty of the children to take care of the parents. They should have loving and caring attitude toward the parents. They are the heaven and the hell of the children. In Quran Allah has given command to show kindness and love to the parents.

“Your Lord has decreed that you shall worship none but Him, and (that you shall treat) the parents with kindness. Whether one or both of them attain old age with you, then, say not to them (even) an ‘Oof,’ nor repel them, rather, speak to them noble words”

The right of your mother

The right of your mother can be understood by one Ahadith:-

“Once a companion asked the Prophet PBUH as to whom he should show more kindness. The Prophet PBUH replied: "Your mother." He asked who comes next and the Prophet PBUH again replied: "Your mother." He asked the Prophet PBUH yet again who comes next. The Prophet PBUH replied: “Your mother." When the companion asked for the fourth time, only then did the Prophet PBUH reply: "Your father."

If someone wants to get success in this life and in other life then he should be obedient of his parents. There are certain points which should keep him mind.

·         You should speak politely and humble to your parents
·         You should obey your parents as long as no insubordination to Allah is included
·         You should never grimace at them, nor provide for them a furious look.
·         You should show honor to them and should their notoriety and their property. Never take anything from them without consent.
·         You should do those objects which please them and should help them without asking.
·         You should ask for the advice in any matter.
·         You should give response quickly to them when they ask anything with smile and in a polite manner.
·         You should never put a blame on them if they done any error.
·         You should not speak with then in loud voice.
·         You should not give priority to your wife or children over them.

We should recognize the status of the parents which is very higher. We should know our duties toward our parents. In Quran it is said that:-

“And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.”  [Quran 31:14]

'Abdullaah Ibn Mas’ood RA said: “I asked the Prophet PBUH which deed is most liked by Allaah? He PBUH said: ‘Prayer offered on time.’ I asked him: ‘Then what? He PBUH said: ‘Kindness and respect towards parents” (Al-Bukhaari and Muslim)

This whole discussion shows that what really parents are and what are their rights. They are the universe for the child. They are the heaven and hell of their children. By obeying your parents you can go in heavens and by disobeying them you can push yourself in hell. May Allah give us the understanding about the rights of the parents and give us strength to become obedient to your parents (Ameen).
